THE BIOGRAPHY
KL was born and raised in the Washington DC metropolitan area, he was inspired in music by his grandfather,
the late Grant Williams 111, who played the tenor saxophone for Louis Armstrong band KL, started his musical
training at a young age in the traditional Baptist church.
K L started playing music professionally in the late 70`s with a local GO GO band.
Then he went on to form his own national gospel group. The group recorded its first gospel album on Redemption
Records which included the instant hit Victory, which vaulted the victory album to number 18 on the Billboard charts.
The album was a huge success and the group was nominated for the GMWA Excellence award, Dove award, and
Soul Train music nominee.
The group has also charted the Billboard at least 5 times. Then K L signed a contract on the Quinn Record Label.
The group was also nominated for a Grammy award for their latest album A Message From The Messengers. K L and
his group has performed all over America, appeared on national television shows. K L is now enjoying his latest
Soul R&B album`s which include Can You Get Away, Par-Tee Time, Somebody Said, Lied For The Last Time,
Do You Love Me, I Got My Swagg On, Sweetness Is Her Weakness, That Lady and Ms Niece.
